With the laser cutting machine tools of numerical control being used widely in theindustrial production, the numerical control automatic programming technologysupporting it has also developed rapidly. The overseas programming systems for lasercutting are excellent but they are expensive. In order to reduce the cost, domestic CNClaser cutting systems which are on the base of the advanced CAD systems are generallydue to secondary development. Their function is not perfect and software systems’level islow. Therefore, it has great theoretical significance and actual application value to researchand design a laser cutting technology of two dimension automatic programming softwarewith independent intellectual property rights. The function design of the NC automaticprogramming system for laser cutting which is based on the requirement of laser cutting isprocessed. C++ and MFC are used together for designing function module of CAD,module of layout and module of CAM depending on the exploitation platform Visual C++6.0.Not only the main function of the CAD module is discussed in the paper but also thetype of basic graphic elements, editorial method and the geometry transform are describedin this paper. The generation algorithms of spline curve are mainly expounded . In thispaper, the graphics data structure of AutoCAD about DXF file is deeply analyzed and thedata interface program is programmed.The means of plank layout for laser cutting is researched in this paper. A calculationmethod is expounded for parts of the graphics spacing. Then, the regional planningalgorithm is discussed, which is based on optimal rectanglar enclosure of polygon and BLstrategy and the filling method of the rest of area of the plank. A covering method ofrectangular area is expounded for intervene of the pars graphics of blank area in layoutdiagram.For some parts graphics,there exists a probleme about the drop of the utilizationrate after enveloping rectangular approximately. A algorithm of enveloping rectangularapproximately which is applied to a adversary and one-way arrangement process is raised.The path majorization problem of laser cutting is researched. The nearest region algorithm determining the pierce points for laser cutting is proposed.The point by pointcomparison algorithms for laser cutting simulation process is researched and developed.
