Organic glass PMMA has excellent optical property, ageing resistance andartifactitious property, which could be applied to numerous fields. However, the lowstratch-resistance and surface hardness of the plasties causes a fast decrease of theoptical quality. Organic/inorganic coating with the capability of high transparency, hasthe better storage-stability, abrasion-resistance and caking property, moreover theadhesion of the coating is favorable, which is widely used as the scratch-resistance forPMMA. UV curable silicones which combined the excellent performance of siliconeand efficiency, energy-saving UV curing technology, are being used extensively. Inthis thesis, the photosensitive silicones was synthesized firstly by introduced thephotosensitive group to the polysiloxane, then the prepolymer was used in thescratch-resistance coating, following that the properties of the coating wereinvestigated.Preparation and properties of UV curable polysiloxane acrylateA series of UV curable polysiloxane acrylates were prepared, which were furthercharacterized by fourier transform infrared, thermogravimetric analysis,1H nuclearmagnetic resonance and gel-permeation chromatography. The result showed that, witha stability molecular weight distribution the expected product was synthesisedsuccessfully. The thermal stability of the prepolymer was enhanced with the increaseof the content of KH-560. The prepolymer had good compatibility, the storage of theprepolymer was more than6months, with the content of the KH-560less than70%.Since then, along with the increase of its dosage, the viscosity increased, while thestorage stability and compatibility declined.The formulating optimization and performance of UV curingwear-resistant coatingIn this article, multi-functional aliphatic urethane acrylate monomers, reactivediluents and the photo-initiator were mixed in different ratios to prepare a series of wear-resistant transparent coatings for PMMA, which were further cured by the UVcuring technology. The performances of the coating were measured. The resultshowed that, the adhesion of the coating was enhanced, with the primer treated byisopropanol. Oligomer CN8000endow the coating with a good hardness, while themonomer isobornyl acrylate(SR506) and dipentaerythritol pentaacrylate (SR399)provide a excellent adhesion and scrath resistance.Characterization of polysiloxane acrylate UV curable hard coatingIn this chapter, the different composition and quantity of silicone acrylicprepolymer was added to the recipe, then the physical properties of the coating wasinvestigated. The thermal, dynamic mechanical, optical and wear-resisting propertiesof the hard coating were further measured by thermogravimetric analysis, dynamicmechanical thermal analysis DMA, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer andphotoelectric haze instrument.The results indicated that, the highly crosslinked prepolymer afford bothfavorable of adhesion and abrasion resistance.with a fine optical performance theanti-scratch of the film enhanced reach to55gram. DMA results showed that the Tgdegrade first as the adding of prepolymers, further follow up with the increase of thecontent of KH-560.The hydrophobicity of the coating was enhanced with the increase of thecontents of the prepolymers, while the water absorption declined with the increasethe degree of crosslinking, and the coating with an outstanding chemical resistance.
