In the profile grinder, profile model is the original model using for contour machining. It is thekey problem which must be solved to fast and accurately design and machine profile model, usuallythe grinding products are high-tech and electronic, such as mobile phone glass window, watch glassscreen, which have the features of complex and diverse outline, high accuracy, batch production andother characteristics. But the traditional technologies, drawing and analysis designing method andanti-machining method, which have low efficiency and low precision cannot meet the demand, aftercomprehensive analysis, the computer-aided design and machining technology gives an effective wayto fast and accurately design and machine profile model.According to the2d graphics, the system to design profile model is studied and developed.Through analyzing the structure and profiling principle of the profile grinder, the kinematic relationsamong profiling components are studied based on the principle of machinery, the method and theprocedure of designing profile model outline curve are derived, and the design method is arguablyanalyzed with computer graphics principle; then the profile model of design system is realized basedon the design procedure and mathematical models with the second development tool LISP language ofAutoCAD software.The CNC machining automatic programming system is studied and developed. The function ofthe system includes the graphics information collection, processing technic design, the NC codeauto-generating and output. The main content of the processing technic design part is to confirm thestart cutting point and cutting path, and the NC code is worked out according to the wire-electrodecutting ISO code standard. In order to check the NC code, the code checking system is built throughreverse getting the profile model outline.The errors in the process of profile model design and profiling machining are analyzed andcalculated, and the feasible plans to control and reduce the errors are put forward; in order to facilitatethe user to operate and input machine parameters, the entire profile model design and machiningsystem is visually designed with friendly interactive interface and convenient and efficient menu, andthe program compiling and safety maintenance are studied in the paper.The actual application experiment is made to validate the feasibility and accuracy of the systemthrough respectively comparing and measuring the machined profile model and the profilingmachined workpiece with the standards, the results show that the profile model design and machining system is feasible, and meets the practical function requirements, improving the design precision andmachining efficiency. The most important characteristic of the system is that it can automaticallygenerate the profile model and machining NC code file for any shape of workpiece graphics.
