The article mainly discusses the CNC processing technology of non-circularcutting based on linear motor, analysis the overall structure of the profiled surfacecontour in piston, mathematical description on the piston shaped surface contourstructure from the cross-section and axial section in both directions, obtain the CNClathe processing methods of Piston shaped surface structure on the basis of this,interpolate decile point of the cross-sectional with the synthesis of speed angle,interpolate the axial section with equal precision linear approximation method.By analyzing the CNC lathe processing methods of piston, combined with ourexisting piston lathe and linear motor application status, A processing program of NClathe with Motion Controller and General CNC system as the core structure have beenproposed, the motion controller uses GTS series four-axis control card, NC chooseHANUC control system. The piston cross-sectional line processing by the motioncontroller,piston axial section line processing by the CNC system. Piston machiningprogram mainly by mold processing software provided in the host computer.The turret device uses dual-axis control dual-turret mechanism, dual turret by thefour-position turret institutions and line turret, expanded the scope of the processing.Dual-turret mechanism located by the slide board that it was driven by rotating servomotor, quartet turret for the ordinary lathe processes and linear turret institutions tocarry out the processing of non-circular cross section, large stroke by skateboard, reachnear the location of the processing, linear turret for high-frequency high-precisionmachining when non-circular cross-section parts are processed.Linear turret institutions is a core part of the piston lathe, the linear motor selectionand control strategy directly determines the accuracy of the radial fast-forward tool feedunit. According to the processing characteristics of CNC piston lathe, Linear turretinstitutions selected voice coil linear motor with the advantages of piecewise feed, largetravel, high-frequency and high-precision. The piston processing software as a platform to Windows2000, Visual C++as atool for development, easy to operate and friendly interface, it can generate motioncontroller and NC processing program of piston, basically meet the requirements of theprocessing procedures of the profiled surface of the piston.
