Iron recovery from tailings such as Gold Mine Tailings was got attention at homeand abroad these years, which could be rooted in the supply shortages of iron resources.Magnetization Roasting-Magnetic separation was often used in the iron recovery fromGold Mine Tailings. In the thesis, the suspended roasting processes were investigatedutilizing lab simulation facility. These studies not only provided necessary parametersfor semi-industrial roasting test, but also stimulated the optimized suspended roastingparameters. In addition, the two different roasting parameters were analyzed, thenmagnetic separation was investigated. The main conclusions are listed in the following:(1)A new parameter named by “Magnetic transformation coefficient” was putforward to evaluation the roasting effect, which could make a more comprehensive andaccurate characterization of roasting than previous parameters such as “reductivedegree”;(2)The Magnetization Roasting of gold mine tailings was mainly affected bytemperature, roasting time and the volume fraction of CO. Under experimentalcondition, volume fraction of CO was the main influence factors, next were roastingtime and roasting temperature;(3)In semi-industrial suspended roasting, a better roasting effect could be achievedwhen increasing the series of preheaters and extending the residence time of materials;(4)Using semi-industrial suspended roasting system with3series of preheaters, theroasting ore whose magnetic transformation coefficient could reach94.0%could be gotwhen control the temperature of baking at800℃±20℃, and volume fraction of CO was1%; (5)In suspended roasting, the heat release of magnetized roasting reaction was42.59kJ/mol, the heat consumption of roasting ore was914.82kJ/kg, which was greatlyreduce compared with the traditional roasting;(6)Three sections of grinding-magnetic separation process could attained resultsas: concentrate iron grade was55.58%, recovery of iron was81.86%.
