The major pollutants of Huaihe River are the permanganate index and ammonianitrogen concentration, and it become one of the national key management of the "threerivers and three lakes". Locks and dams on the Huaihe River make it become a river ofhighly artificial control. The distribution of precipitation is uneven during the year, annualrainfall mainly concentrates in the6to9months. In the dry season, the upstream lock isclosed to retain water, river runoff is very small, self-purification capacity of water is weak,and the continuous sewage from surrounding area make the water quality deterioration; inthe flood season, the upstream lock is opened for the first time, the high concentration ofsewage group formed in the dry season rush into the mainstream in a short period of time,making the polluted river become worse. Therefore, the initial of flood season is prone topollution incidents. The data analysis shows that Yinghe River and Guohe River are themain factors of the Huaihe River water pollution during flood season, and the impact of theYinghe River is especially important. In this paper, the RMA4module and RMA2moduleof SMS software are used as a research tool to establish the dynamic models, which arefrom Lutaizi reach to Fushan reach of Huai River in flood season, Lutaizi reach toTianjiaan reach and Wujiadu (bengbu) reach to Linhuaiguan reach of Huai River in dryseason. Based on the simulation of the verification model (to establish the water qualitymodel), use ammonia nitrogen as the research targets to simulate the upper reaches of theHuaihe River and Yinghe River in different water quantity and pollutant concentrations.Simulation result is basically in line with the actual situation. By analyzing the simulationresults, the pollutants migration and transformation trend of the study area results areobtained in the flood season and the dry season. This paper also calculates the waterenvironment capacity by attenuation coefficient which is decided by water quality models,which plays reference to the governance and the pollution prevention for the Huaihe River.
