Near-infrared indocyanine dye attracted great attention in recent years because thestructure with multi-conjugate and the molar extinction coefficient, high reflectivity, lowmelting point, solubility, the maximum absorption wavelength tunable range and othercharacteristics, which make it to widely used in the optical storage sensitized solar cells, optical storage, bio-detection fluorescence analysis, nonlinear optical materials and otherfields. In this paper, based on the conclusion of studying for indocyanine dye of a large numberof predecessors,to preparation of novel indocyanine compounds for the purpose, carried out onthe several novel indocyanine compounds for the synthesis and study on the spectralproperties, the introduction of amino and thiol structure to change its spectral properties, access to the novel, improved spectral properties of the pH probe. This paper describes the nature and structure of some indocyanine dye, and outlines thesynthetic progress and potential applications of indocyanine dye. With phenylhydrazine as starting material, the first synthesis of 2,3,3- trimethyl-indole,and then methylated to form quaternary ammonium salts of N-methyl-2,3,3-trimethyl-indole,and self-synthesis of chlorine-containing six bridges condensation forming heptamethineindocyanine dye. further with -SH,-NH compounds synthesized a different spectral propertiesof novel heptamethine indocyanine fluorescence dye, preliminary study of the reactionprocess conditions and the nature of the difference spectrum under different conditions. Theseparation and purification methods of synthesis target compound were studied andcharacterization of dyes by1H-NMR, IR, UV spectra and fluorescence spectra after separationand purification.
