Zeolites are crystalline aluminosilicates with indefinitely extending three-dimensional framework of T tetrahedral linked by sharing of oxygen atoms, and are porous inorganic materials with a specific of pore structure. The T atom usually refer to the Si, Al or P atoms, and also refer to other atoms in some cases, suth as B, Ga, Be and so on, and the tetrahedron constitute the most basic structure of the zeolite framework unit, that is the primary structural unit. Zeolite porous materials with well-developed pore structure, profuse surface area, tunable proe size and hole wall thickness, are catalyst, catalyst support, adsorpotion and separation agents, exchange agents, have been extensively application in the fields of petrochemical industry, soil improvement industry, sewage treatment industry, metallurgy industry, medicine industry, atomic energy industry, and light industry etc. Zeolite porous materials are the important new materials in the national economy.Sodalite as an important member of zeolite family was applied in the field of inorganic functionalized material firstly, and its unique structure and performance have attracted much attention. In recent years, more studies was focused on using it as the hydrogen adsorbents, and showed that the hydrogen adsorption capacity was higher that other zeolites. Annemieke W.C. van den Berg et al. pointed out that the volume target could be achieved by sodalite theoretically, and based the sodaites’important application prospects, the synthesis and performance are great significance.Based on lots of literatures of zeolites synthesis, the paper using oil shale ash and alkali solution directly, the study synthesizes SOD through the hydrothermal method. We compared some properties of Z-SOD and SOD (synthesized from chemical materials). The as-obtained Z-SOD was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), infrared spectra (IR), thermogravimetry analysis (TG), Water static adsorption test. The result show that the synthesis method greatly reduces the cost, and Z-SOD is better than SOD in cation exchange. On this basis, using Z-SOD as the main material, this paper synthesizes Metal-sodalite Host-Guest Materials through ion exchange and hydrogen reduction, and studis its magnetic properties. The as-obtained Metal-sodalite Host-Guest Materials was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA), Water static adsorption test, N2analysis, magnetic test. The result show that Metal-sodalite Host-Guest Materials have the same framework of sodalite, and the antiferromagnetism provide evidence for its mechanism of hydrogen storage.
