As well-known, coordination polymers have attracted much more attention notonly because of their versatile structures and topologies but also for their potentialapplications as functional materials. Up to now, though a large number of relatedcompounds have been reported, However, the “true” engineering of coordinationpolymers remains a difficult challenge, Crystallization is a very complicated process,and minor changes in chemical environment, such as the temperature, pH value orsolvent, can have an unpredictable impact on the composition of resulting compounds.Even though, the careful selection of metal coordination geometries and organic ligandstructures can still play a decisive role to the construction of MOFs.In this paper, according to principles of molecular design, Cd (Ⅱ)were selected astemplates, and alkyl-substituted fluorene dicarboxylic acids (H2cca)mainly acted asbuilding blocks.A novel coordination polymer was synthesized under solvothermalconditions and the crystal structure was determined. All compounds were characterizedby infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis were also investigated..Solvent hot and volatile reaction are two methods of synthesizing coordinationpolymers.It is more facile than homogeneous phase method.In this paper,we discussedthe synthesis conditions in M-bpdc system,different center ions,mole ratio ofreactants,solvents and pH values.The major contributions in the paper as follows:1.Synthesis of Compounds[Cd(cca)(bpp)(H2O)]·2H2O(1),A mixture of Cd(NO32·4H2O (0.0308g,0.1mmol),H2cca (0.0192g,0.1mmol), bpp (0.0156g,0.1mmol). Compund1exhibits a theree-fold interpenetrating network with (65·8) topology.[Cd2(cca)2(bib)3]·3.5H2O (2),Complex2was synthesized following the same synthetic procedure as that for complex1except that bib was used instead of bpp. Compound2displays a two-foldinterpenetrating polyrotaxane motif comprised of two interlocked sets of identicaldiamond nets.[Cd2(cca)2(bib)2]2·10H2O (3),A mixture of Cd(NO32·4H2O (0.0308g,0.1mmol), H2cca (0.0192g,0.1mmol), bib (0.0156g,0.1mmol). Compound3featuresa five-fold interpenetrating framework of diamond-like topology.[Cd2(cca)2(bib)·(H2O)2](4), A mixture of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O (0.0308g,0.1mmol),H2cca (0.0192g,0.1mmol), bib (0.0156g,0.1mmol), DMF (5ml), ethanol (2ml) andH2O (1ml) was placed in a Teflon reactor (20ml) and heated at80°C for1days.Compound4shows a3D self-interpenetrating framework with (48·67) topology.2. Characterizations of the crystal structuresSingle crystal structures of the new coordination polymer was determined by X-raydiffraction.Compound1crystallizes in the tetragonal P43212chiral space group. Compound2crystallizes in the triclinic P1space group. Compound3crystallizes in the triclinic P-1space group. Compound4crystallizes in the anclinic P2/n space group.
