In order to obtain suitable condition of paraffin latent heat storage system applied to wood solar drying and find ways to enhance the heat transfer effectiveness, this article mainly research in the practicability of paraffin latent heat storage system in wood solar drying and the heat transfer performance of this system, which can provide theory guidance for application of heat storage system in solar drying and facilitate the development of solar energy used in wood drying. Through this experiment, eucalyptus woods were dried in different way and the heat transfer capability was tested. The main conclusions in this paper are as follows:(1)The period of solar drying is40%-50%shorter than that of air drying. The top energy saving rate of solar drying was74.5%; The applicable conditions for heat storage system:The cumulative amount of solar radiation from08:00to18:00can reach20MJ/m2or more.(2) The higher the air temperature, the shorter the heat storage time. The higher the wind speed, the shorter the heat storage time. The shortest time was1380s whit the temperature of80℃and wind speed of3m/s. When temperature is given, the heat release time reduces as the wind speed increases.(3) The heat transfer coefficients with temperature of80℃were more decentralized than that with temperature of60℃or70℃, which against stable temperature; In the range of wind speed from1.5m/s to3m/s, the heat transfer coefficient increases as the wind speed increases. Increasing the wind speed can enhance heat transfer.
