In order to meet the development needs of the national economy, the size and number of the electric power industry is expanding, thermal power plants as the main body of the electric power industry, with the expansion of production scale, and its impact on the groundwater quality gets more and more attention. Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group Co. Ltd. Zhaozhuang Kengkou power plant located in Shanxi Province, Changzhi mayor sub-county. The county’s major Domestic water and production water is from groundwater. the rational use and protection of groundwater is related to the health of local residents and normal production lives. With Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group Co., Ltd. Zhaozhuang Kengkou power plant as the research background, the paper conducted a field survey and test for the hydrogeological conditions of the study area, and made evaluation of the groundwater quality status. Through the Visual Modflow software the paper simulated the impaction which the project and ash field two sites’s construction and operation cause on groundwater,and provided a scientific basis for the sustainable development of groundwater use and reasonable protection, and an important reference for the region’s economic, social, and environmental sustainability.Representative simulation factors have been selected for different leak conditions. Accident oil tank, cesspool, and the ammonia tank leak have been simulated in the factory model,and a representative simulation factor was selected in the ash field model.The results show that: 1.Pollution range from big to small is the ammonia tank leaked, the accident oil tank leak, the bottom of the cesspool leakage.2. Pollutants migration distance range from big to small is the ammonia tank leaked, the accident oil tank leak, the bottom of the cesspool leakage, that is determined by the site hydrogeologic conditions and the nature of pollution sources.3.Pollution halo continues to expand over time, pollution halo center flow to the downstream migration with the water, and pollution progressively increased.4.Continuous-injection and instantaneous-injection simulation results were significantly different. The center concentration of instantaneous-injection pollution halo has been decreased, concentration of whole pollution halo tended to be uniform. While, the center concentration of continuous-injection pollution halo did not reduce and the high-concentrations the range is increasing with the extension of the time.5.The ash field impermeable layer destruction leaked belongs to the continuous injection, whose pollution halo continue to expand over time, pollution halo center flow to the downstream migration with the water, and pollution progressively increased.In order to prevent and control the impact of the plant on the groundwater environment, strengthening anti-seepage measures improving monitor measures selecting reasonable groundwater remediation technology have been suggested.
