Based on the metallurgical market on manganese nitride growing demand as well as the manganese nitride production manufacturers on the production efficiency and saving energy and reducing consumption demands, with99.7%purity electrolytic manganese as raw materials, and rolling manganese as nitriding body, the rolling manganese nitriding process and equipment were studied. The response surface method was applied to design and analysis the method of the depth nitriding process, the effects of nitriding induced agent, pre-vacuum, nitriding pressure, nitriding temperature and nitriding time, on N content of products were studied. obtained the best nitriding process parameters; To the nitriding process equipment, according to the production requirements not only carried on the system design, but also used finite element method for failure analysis of the wearing parts (especially nitriding boat) of complete sets of equipment, provided a basis of complete sets of nitriding equipment optimization design.(1)According to the single factor experimental analysis, using response surface method to derive the optimal combination of parameters. The rolling manganese nitriding study shows:the number of pre-vacuum is more, vacuum pre-pumping is more complete, more favorable for nitriding; Nitriding pressure higher efficiency is higher, but the equipment limited bearing capacity, general equipment manufacturing cost and service life, nitriding pressure should be0.3-0.5MPa; Overestimation of the nitriding temperature is not conducive to high levels of nitrogen adsorption equilibrium of rolling manganese, but will cause rolling manganese excess burning loss and heat loss, optimal nitriding temperature should be870℃; In a certain range of specimen, extension of nitriding time is advantageous to nitrogen content, but further extension of time will gradually lose its significance, the best nitriding time is10.5h(2) The system design of complete sets of equipment for rolling manganese nitride has achieved the production capacity reached8~10tons. The main design include:the overall design, furnace body and a heating/temperature control system, furnace and vacuum system, nitriding boat and its driving mechanism, high purity nitrogen supply and control system.(3)By means of finite element method to do failure analysis, found the reason of deformation of the vulnerability of key pieces of nitriding boat. Nitriding boat is long time in high temperature working state, temperature gradient lead to thermal stress, and as the long time bear the product load, it gradually deformed after multiple nitriding process, with the number of repetitions increases, deformation is more and more obvious. Based on the analysis of the results on nitriding boat and feeding trolley structure optimization design is carried out, the nitriding boat by integral structure is changed into capsules split, obtained ideal using effect.
