Flame-retardant and explosion-inhibitory diesel can meet the daily usagerequirements of diesel engines and also don’t explode when the oil carrier washit by artillery shells, the spilled-out diesel can self-extinguish, usually,flame-retardant and explosion-inhibitory diesel composed by ordinary dieseland a variety of additives, by the formula improved, diesel making its withretardant suppression function, the technology can reduce the likelihood ofoccurrence of fire largely, fuel less prone to explosion and combustion lowerflame spread tendency to reduce large-scale spread. The microemulsion dieselis one of the most important ways to produce flame-retardant andexplosion-inhibitory diesel.In this thesis, the cationic surfactant CTAB is used as emulsifiers, alcoholswith different chain lengths are used as cosurfactants to preparemicroemulsion diesel. This experiment has investigated the influence ofdifferent alcohols, surfactants, and different water content, differentpreparation methods on the preparation of microemulsion diesel, after kinds ofexperiments, hexanol is the most suitable auxiliary emulsifier when CTAB asemulsifier, the experiments also determine the best formulation of the microemulsifon diesel fuel with different water content. In this thesis, theamount of emulsifier and the amount of emulsifier on the physical andchemical indicators of microemulsion diesel are studied, add of emulsifier canincrease the viscosity of the system, add of cosurfactants can reduce theviscosity of the system. The effect of different n-alcohols on the phasebehavior of microemulsion diesel has been analyzed. Pseudoternary phasediagram analysis of diesel/CTAB/hexanol/water system has also beenanalyzed.Microemulsion diesel with different water content has much differentperformance, this article focus on microemulsion diesel with different watercontent, put emphasis at examining the influence of water content on theviscosity and thermal stability of the microemulsion. Compare themicroemulsion diesel with the same amount of emulsifier and different watercontent, viscosity of microemulsion diesel is higher when water conten isthigher. The thermal stability of the microemulsion diesel is not only relatedwith water content, but also the content of emulsifier and the type ofemulsifier in the system. Thermal stability of the system grows with theincrease of the emulsifier content.Explosion inhibitory performance of microemulsion diesel is the coreinspection point for this subject, experiments carried out the physical andchemical characterization and explosive performance of CTAB systemmicroemulsion diesel. Experimet result shows that microemulsion diesel with different formulations has great different with their explosion inhibitoryperformance, the explosion pressure and explosion temperature change a lotthen formulation change. In the case of ignition at the same time, themaximum explosion pressure of the CTAB system not only reduced, but alsodelay the explosion time.
