Waterborne epoxy interior coating for container with good mechanical properties andbetter anti-corrosive performances were prepared. And waterborne epoxy emulsion withnarrow particle size distribution, good stability and excellent film performance which madeimprovements for its film-forming material was self-made in this paper. This paper consists oftwo parts.The first part was preparation of waterborne epoxy interior coating for container. Effectsof types of waterborne epoxy system, ratio of waterborne epoxy emulsion to curing agent,type and dosage of anti-rust pigment, flake filler, dispersant and coalescent, at the time ofPVC on coating performances were discussed in detail. The factors influenced the propertiesof coatings were characterized by FTIR, SEM and the test of main routine properties. Theresults show that: when the mass ratio of epoxy emulsion A to C was7:3, the mass ratio ofepoxy emulsion to curing agent from8:1to10:1, anti-rust pigments B to E was1:2withdosage of40%, the dosage of sericite powder was20%and the PVC was44%, themechanical and anti-corrosive properties were excellent and low-cost. When the dispersantwas E with dosage of0.62%, the viscosity of coating was lowest and stability was best. Thewaterborne epoxy interior topcoat for container achieved the targets of industry standards.The second part is waterborne epoxy emulsion for container. The specific nonionicemulsifier for waterborne epoxy was prepared by reaction between high molecular weightpolyether and bisphenol A solid epoxy resin, which is used to prepare the epoxy emulsion byphase inversion technique. Effects of dosage of catalyst on epoxide during reaction of epoxyresin and polyether were discussed. And effects of mol ratio of epoxy resin and polyether,type of emulsifier, mass fraction of emulsifier, emulsification temperature and types of epoxyresin on emulsion properties were discussed. The factors influenced the properties of coatingswere characterized by FTIR, GPC, Nano-particle size analyzer, SEM and DSC. The resultsshow that: when the dosage of catalyst was0.40%, the epoxide of system was moderate.When the mol ratio of epoxy resin and polyether was1:1, emulsifier was compound one, themass fraction of emulsifier was15%, emulsification temperature was75℃, the mass ratio ofCYD011and CYD014was3:1,the comprehensive performances of waterborne epoxy emulsion were best. The properties of emulsion almost closed to foreign products and theperformance of film made from self-made emulsion reached industry standards, especiallynegative impact.
