With the development of the theory and practice of the crude oil, the cold crude oil production (CCOP) and proper sand control have gained widely application in heavy oil. The reasonable sanding recovery method shows that the technique can improve productivity of the oil wells. The oilfield prefers natural sedimentation method to others because of the best separation effect, a large handling capacity, low energy consumption, simple operation and low-carbon green. So, the sand inevitably into the oil and the separating oil from the sand became the essential step. It is of profound significance to the experimental study on natural sedimentation and viscosity-temperature under the world advocates green environment. On the basis of the survey of plenty of site materials, the sand production situation in oilfield was summarized in this paper. Theoretical and experimental study on natural sedimentation and viscosity-temperature characteristics carry out systemic research. It establishes the model from microscopic mechanism of seeping acquirement. The viscosity of crude oil has a great dependence on temperature and the Newtonian fluid is transformed into the non-Newtonian fluid. It is shown by many data and the testing result that the viscosity of crude oil is more sensitive than the crude. The results demonstrate that the viscosity declines with temperature rising in the same water content cases. Under the condition of low water content, temperature has a remarkable effect on viscosity. However, under the condition of high water content, temperature has very little influence on viscosity. At the same temperature conditions, with the increase of the water content, viscosity first increases and the decreases, that is to say, oil-water mixture exist reversed-phase points, viscosity increases with the increasing of water content before reversed-phase points, viscosity decreases with the increasing of water content after reversed-phase points. Viscosity and water ratio of Jianghan and Bohai crude-oil temperature have a significant effect on the desanding ratio, through the analysis of influence discipline, and further make sure the features and reversed-phase points under the oil-water mix system. This article does some research on natural sedimentation separation characteristics in the sand separator of crude oil by adopting laboratory test, in order to test sedimentation time and viscosity of various kinds of grit size in crude oil, which indicates the relationship of different viscosity and different grit size and sedimentation velocity. Not only make sure the relationship of sedimentation time、viscosity and grit size, but also the boundary between floating zone and stable region in the sand separator of crude oil, which has an important guiding role to make sure the time that natural sedimentation separation takes for oil-water sand, sand separator properties of crude oil and separator size. The main works mentioned in the article are:1) make sure and optimized plans of the experimental study of natural sedimentation and viscosity-temperature characteristics2) The paper does some research on natural sedimentation separation characteristics in the sand separator of crude oil by adopting laboratory test, in order to test sedimentation time and viscosity of various kinds of grit size in crude oil, which indicates the relationship of different viscosity and different grit size and sedimentation velocity.
