A series of methymethacrylate-butadiene-styrene (MBS) copolymer was synthesized via seeded emulsion polymerization techniques by grafting St and MMA on PB particles, PMMA/MBS blends were obtained by melting MBS with PMMA resin, the effect of PB content of MBS copolymer, PB content of PMMA/MBS blends, the content of TDDM in MBS copolymer on the mechanical properties and morphology of PMMA/MBS blends were studied. It was showed that with the increasing of PB content in MBS copolymer, the impact strength of blend increased and then decreased. It was found that when the PB content of MBS was fixed at50%,the rubber content of PMMA/MBS was fixed at17.5%, the mechanical properties of blends was good, the impact strength was200J/m, the tensile strength was increased. In this case, with the addition of TDDM, better mechanical properties of blends was showed, the impact strength increased and then decreased with the increasing of TDDM content. The impact strength was proved when100nm MBS blended with300nm MBS. Besides, the dispersion of PB phase and the microstructure of blends were investigated by TEM; it was found that the toughness of PMMA/MBS blend was consistence in its dispersion in the PMMA matrix.A series of poly (butyl acrylate-co-butadiene-co-styrene) latex with different particle size were prepared at the basic of the theory of bi-copolymer. The latex particle size was changed. A series of poly (butyl acrylate-co-butadiene-co-styrene)-g-poly (methyl methacrylate) core-shell impact modifiers (N-AIM) with different particle sizes were prepared by emulsion polymerization. The effect of particle size on the optical property and the mechanical properties was studied. It was found that with the increasing of particle size, the impact strength increased, when particle size was400nm, the impact strength was99.22J/m; the transparency was increased and then goes to steady.
