Bag filter with high filtration is widely used in smoke purification. However, the bag filteris often prone to occur the bag breakage phenomenon, and it always leads to decline thecollection efficiency, even causes environmental pollution more serious. Finding and changingthe broken bag in time is significance for bag filter.In order to solve the problem of the traditional methods of the bag-house leakage detection,such as the false alarm, a technology of bag-house leakage detection by capacitive sensingmethod is proposed, this technology of leakage detection is that if any breakage appears, thelarger particles in the flue gas can be separated by the cyclone. Simultaneously, use the PLC andwireless communication module of Xbee-Pro to achieve the wireless control and automatic leakdetection.According to the leak detection mechanism of the bag-house, this paper conducts thestudies of the cyclone’s separation effect and measure dust by capacitive sensing. According tothe corresponding design of pipe network, the leak detection is built. The research shows thatwhen the inlet velocity is15m/s, the collection efficiency for the sintering particles smaller than74μm can up to92.3%. The collection efficiency for the sintering particles larger than5μm canget up to88%. It is accurate to use capacitive sensing to measure dust, and its average error isnot up to3.665%. The experimental results show that the bag-house leakage can be detected bythe capacitive sensor quickly and accurately, and the leak detection accuracy rate can reach to100%.
