In the secondary power supplies, which can be recycled, lead-acid battery has the advantages of low price, mature technology and stable performance, so it has been widely applied. However, compared with other types of batteries, the deficiencies of short life cycle and low specific energy reduce its influence in the field of electronic cars, bicycles and motorbike.According to the low specific energy, using aluminum, which has the advantages of light weight, big density, better conductivity lower price and so on, as the grid materials to get the light-weight grid which can be used in lead-acid battery. This author mainly study the parameters in the process of molten salt directly chemical plating Pb on the effect of the properties of Al/Pb composite material, and then make the aluminum based grid as the negative grid of the battery and test the performance of it. The mainly results of this article as following:(1) The "molten salt chemical plating+metal bath" process has been successfully developed, which can be used as in the process of making a compact, flat, component and thickness can be adjusted Pb alloys plating. The results of coating on the Al/Pb composite prepared by this process properties shows that the binding force with the aluminum base>2.453M Pa, the electrode potential and the corrosion current of the Al/Pb electrode is similarly of Pb electrode, which also can be repeat cycled in the voltage area of the negative gird of the lead-acid battery, and satisfy the basic requirement of it.(2) Using the optimized "molten salt chemical plating+metal bath" process papered the aluminum base grid. Improving the preparation process of lead-acid, papered the Al/Pb grid battery, and tested the properties of this battery according to the national standard of GB/T19639.1-20055.18.2. The experimental results shows that using Al/Pb grid replace the negative grid of the lead-acid battery can improve15.9%specific energy, which satisfied the life requirement of national standard. Through decreasing the physical resistance and the chemical reaction resistance, make the resistance of the battery is decreased to0.3Ω from0.9Ω.All the results shows that, the aluminum based grid can be used as the negative grid of lead-acid battery, to improve the specific energy and decrease the quality and inert resistance of it.
