Groundwater is one of the major safety hazards of the heavy metal mine. In order to ensure the production safety of the mine, underground drainage pump is usually excessive designed. Lots of pumps are distributed widely, and the pump unit is the one of equipments which is the longest continuous operation and the largest power consumption in the pumping system. Therefore, keep effective use of water pump unit is an important part of energy-efficient. The technology of water pump unit efficiency test has an important role in guiding the status and optimal operation of the water pump. Insufficient underground water pump unit efficiency test products exist in Domestic and foreign, mine working environment determines the volume of the pump unit test equipment can not be too big. So it is necessary to develop a portable, high-precision pump test system, it is used to test unit efficiency of the mine pumping system, and guide its optimal operation. It has a very important practical significance to improve the economic efficiency of enterprises.According to the actual needs of mine,we develop the pump unit efficiency test system which can achieves the functions such as testing the operating parameters of the pump unit in real time on-line, calculation of the unit efficiency, and data curve fitting. In the design process, some important and difficult problems of carrying out are solved such as how to measure high-power pump and flow, hardware compatibility, signal acquisition and processing, and anti-interference technology. Main research work is as follows:Firstly, Because of mine is deep, it is needed that using high-power pump, the power supply voltage up to6KV, direct measurement is not safe. In view of this situation, using high voltage current and voltage transformer, high voltage and current is converted to low voltage and current. Three-phase voltage and the four-phase current from the transformer are tested by the water pump efficiency test system.Secondly, in the process of measuring flow, aiming at can not influence the normal work of the pump and destroy water pipe. A method is proposed for using the ultrasonic flowmeter to measure flow. Its working principle is that flow is tested by measuring the upper and lower sensor transmitting and receiving signals through time interval.Finally, analyse the measurement results and their precision, and the system precision is reach GB-3216-89B level of the state. Aiming at the genetic algorithm is prone to "premature", according to the measured data, start or stop order and optimal operation combination of the pumping unit system are optimal applicated based on the GSA hybrid genetic algorithm. The practical operation example indicates that this strategy has a strong applicability, and the great economic benefits have been gained.
