The bauxite resources characters are more"poor,fine, miscellaneous" in china, so it is difficulty to separate valuable mineral with gangue minerals. Commonly used fatty acid collector has imperfection of bad selectivity, high reagent dosage and poor dispersion in low temperature. The reagent combination is one solution. So we use sodium oleate as the main collector, combine with chelator A/B, n-caprylic alcohol/MIBC respectively, examine the combination collector performance with pure mineral and actual ore flotation, and explore the relationship between combination collector performance with components quality and interaction, aim to give some theoretical guidance about the high efficiency collector of bauxite desilicication in china. The main conclusions are as follows:Single mineral flotation results show:the flotation performance of sodium oleate combined with chelating agent A/B, n-caprylic alcohol and MIBC are better than which of sodium oleate, the best mole ration of sodium oleate, chelator A and n-caprylic alcohol is9:1:3. The collecting ability of the combination collector is stronger for diaspore than kaolinite, and make the diaspore flotation pH interval expands to alkaline interval.The actual ore flotation results test the pure mineral flotation findings perfectly. Using sodium oleate, chelator A, and n-caprylic alcohol as collector, when the total amount collector dosage is same with sodium oleate, and operate by open flow with one roughing and one concentrating, we could increased the concentration Al2O3grade from64.8%to71.94%, recovery increased to84.15%,3%more than sodium oleate alone.The mechanism research shows that the combination of collector is beneficial to the associate of nonpolar base. Although chelating agent, surface activity of chelating agent and fatty alcohols are lower than sodium oleate, but when pH=9.4, the addition of the two components could reduce the surface tension of sodium oleate, and promote diaspore apparent particle size. Infrared spectral analysis confirmed that sodium oleate could adsorb on the aluminum, silicon mineral surface, so the selectivity is not enough, while chelating agent and fatty alcohols adsorb on diaspore surface selectively, then make the combination collector of selectivity improve.Comprehensive reserch results show that the solution surface tension lowest point of combination collector which based on sodium oleate correspond with optimao point of collecting ability, so we could screen the combination by measuring the solution surface tention of the combination collector which based on sodium oleate.
