| China is one of the rich countries in magnesium resources with entire resource types, fine texture and wide distribution. And the magnesite in our country has a unique advantage. For decades, the magnesite resources of Liaoning province have been used in a large-scale, and the magnesium industry has made considerable progress. The magnesia refractories with magnesite as raw material have made remarkable achievements as well. Our country has reached a high level in the utilization of magnesite around the world in terms of products number, type and quality. In recent years, a number of magnesite material production enterprises with strong technical strength and production capacity have emerged in Southern Liaoning province, such as Haicheng Xiyang, Haicheng Houying, Yingkou Qinghua, Yingkou Jiachen, Haicheng Huayu, Liaoning Zhongxing and Dashiqiao Jinlong etc. Those group companies have entered into China’s top 500 township enterprises. The production amount and quality of them ranks among the peer enterprises in China and some products have even reached the leading level of the world, which make significant contributions to the rapid economic growth of Liaoning province and the development of China’s refractory industry. Until now, the magnesia refractory products of Liaoning province have already covered 90% of the domestic market, and have been recognized by more than 50 countries and regions.With the low-grade magnesite of Liaoning Haicheng area as raw materials, this subject intends to select proper flotation technology to achieve the desilication purification of magnesite on the basis of flotation tests and reagent system and technology status review.This paper explores the influence of different regents,including dodecylamine, oleate, RA-715 and MB3 new collector agent, on the flotation of quartz, magnesite and impure minerals. The main test methods harbor the floatability test of single mineral, the flotation separation test of real ore and the study of mechanisms between reagents and various minerals.The floatability test of single mineral shows that in alkali(pH> 10) environment,MB3 collector has significant planktonic difference on magnesite and dolomite flotation compared to other reagents, while it has strong collecting capacity of magnesite.Based on the principle of “Productivity First and Grade Consideredâ€, reverse flotation stage holds the reagent system of recovery rate as 88.04% and MgO grade as46.43% in selection of reverse flotation concentrates. Positive flotation grading has been made on the basis of reverse flotation, which unfolds that the optimal indicator can be achieved by using MB3 collector: concentrates contain 47.53% MgO, 0.12%SiO2, and 1.05% impurities including CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3 and the recovery rate has researched 74.65%.The mechanism analysis has showed that: MB3 novel anionic collector ispreferably adsorbed on the surface of magnesite so as to obviously change the surface charge of magnesite. However, it has much less adsorption on the surface of dolomite in order to achieve decalcification. |
