China is a country with rich tungsten resource, but the walframite resource become less, with the scheelite and walframite-scheelite ore resource become more.In order to cope with the tungsten resources reserves situation changes, more and more Mineral processing workers study on new technology and reagent of walframite-scheelite ore, and the increases of tungsten concentrate price provide a economic support for this research. This paper focuses on the flotation of walframite-scheelite ore and the action mechanism of reagent.Experimental study of single mineral shows in high alkali conditions (pH=11), the traditional wolframite-sheelite mixed flotation cannot recall wolframite well, for the optimal pH interval of wolframite inconsistent with scheelit if use fatty acid as collectors. In neutral and alkaline conditions, good mixed flotation index obtained by wolframite-scheelite mixed flotation which combinative chelate GYB with fatty acid GYR, TAB-3as collectors.Experimental study of mixed mineral shows good concentrate grade and recovery can obtained by combinative GYB with auxiliary collector GYR as collector with low dosage of lead nitrate as regulator for walframite-scheelite ore which rich in walframite and relatively low in calcite, fluorite. And by by combinative GYB with auxiliary collector TAB-3as collector with hing dosage of lead nitrate as regulator for walframite-scheelite ore which rich in walframite and relatively low in calcite fluorite can get good index too.Pilot test of ore Shizhuyuan III shows for feeding contain WO30.456%, mixed rough concentrate which contain WO317.01%can obtained by GY method. The recovery is82.22%, which is large increases camper with traditional alkaline method. Good index of mixed floatation can obtained for walframite-scheelite ore which rich in walframite and low in fluorite, calcite by use GYR as auxiliary collector.The study of MS.castep shows fatty acid collector GYR, TAB-3and chelating collector GYB adsorption in [001] surface of huebnerite are closely related in hybrid orbital which constitute in5d orbital of W and3d orbital of Mn, in [001] surface of ferberite are closely related in hybrid orbital which constitute in2p orbital of O,3p orbital of Fe and5d orbital of W, in [001] surface of scheelite are closely related in hybrid orbital which constitute in3d orbital of Ca,2p orbital of O and5d orbital of W.The IR test shows in the mixed floatation of walframite-scheelite ore system, GYB and acid collector GYR, TAB-3chemisorptions in walframite and scheelite, the chemical adsorptions are good for increase the recovery of tungsten.The UV absorption study shows the adsorption quantity of GYB in the surface of scheelite is more than in walframite, which prove that the floatability of scheelite is better than walframite.
