Microbial leaching ore called biological metallurgy, is a cheap method to leach minerals by microbial, it had a similar applications to microbial leaching ore in ancient China, it just begun systematic theoretical research in the1960s. The method applies to leach lean, low grade of ore, because it has low cost, low energy consumption, friendly to environment,it’s popular to mining metallurgy industry. In the method of microbial leaching ores, choosing appropriate strains is the key of achieving efficient leaching rate. In this paper, CaoJianBing and his colleagues have already filtrated a strains resistant bacteria A1from electrolysis manganese residue, they analyses its configuration and16S rDNA, then identified the strains as Serratia sp. In order to study the role of the bacteria in leaching residue by electrolyzing manganese, through scanning electrometric microscopy and growth curve experiment to understand its morphological and physiological characteristics, through the optimal wave bottles experiment to determine the best possible leaching conditions, then studying manganese mechanism in the bacterium leaching residue by electrolyzing manganese. This paper screen separation of bacteria from an11-year abandoned electrolysis manganese residue pile in a chemical plant in Huayuan county of Hunan province. According to the conventional sampling method, samples saved in a sterile bottle and then back to the lab for separation and selection. Bacterial enrichment and separation were using liquid enrichment culture method and gradient dilution coating method, bacteria strains were purified by lining separation repeatedly, then cultivated in35℃and stored in4℃after48hrs freezer to spare. Bacteria were tamed by inoculation with manganese domesticated in the liquid beef medium, to improve the ability to resistant to Mn, and to generate, until obtain ideal strains resistant to Mn.Separately from the initial pH, pulp ratio, temperature, results inoculation quantity, the optimization results time to improve the manganese conditions of electrolyzing manganese residue by Serratia sp.. When inoculated quantity is2%, initial pH is6.0, solid-liquid ratio is1:10, leaching time is56hrs, in35℃, results in the maximum manganese leaching rate by Serratia sp.In the best leaching condition, the author studied the mechanism, of bacteria leaching manganese. In current theory level, Microbial leaching ore can be divided into direct action, indirect effect, joint effect and original batteries effect. For this paper the role of Serratia sp. was neither a direct role nor indirect effect, but an enzyme catalysis reductive effect.
