Oil shale is an important complementary energy with its huge reserves, richutilization level, which caused the attention of the whole world. Oil shale containsonly a little oil and much ash, its mineral composition is very high, the ways to use ofoil shale ash are very wide. This article takes the Jilin Huadian oil shale ash as the research object, itsphysical chemistry and adsorption property is researched, the main contents are asfollows:Through the XRD, BET specific surface area and pore size distribution of BJHto test the physical and chemical properties of Huadian oil shale ash, systemly studyits chemical composition, mineral composition, surface features, BET specific surfacearea, pore size distribution and so on. The results show that the oil shale ash containsa large number of mesoporous, microporous, and many active adsorption groups, asindicate that the oil shale ash has the strong adsorption capacity. Compared withactivated carbon, oil shale ash as a new type of desulfurizing agent has a wide source, low price, and can meet the industrial demand.Oil shale ash is used as the adsorbent to research. Many factors can affect theadsorption, for example particle size, adsorption temperature, humidity, concentrationof hydrogen sulfide and so on.The samples are modified by different ways to see the change of adorptioncapacity. The sample which is modified by alkali and sprinkler is the best adsorbent. But the sample which is modified by microwave doesn’t increase the removal abilityobviously, maybe microwave irradiation time is short, or microwave power is not bigenough. To select (NH4)2S solution method and ultrasonic wave method to regenerateoil shale ash, results show that sulfur content of inactivated sample is larger than theregeneration sample. With the increase of regeneration time, sulfur capacity of regeneration sample decrease sharply, then the fourth and fifth regeneration, thesulfur capacity has been reduced to almost zero.
