Fiber laser is a kind of technology with roughen point topography and distribution controllable, roughness and density adjustable on a large scale, good repeatability and excellent roughen surface performance. If the technology could be applied to the field of roll texturing, there will be a wide prospect. However, The technology is still not mature, many problems need to be solved. In the process of rolling against cold-rolled sheet, the surface topography of roll will be copied to the surface of cold-rolled sheet with a certain rate, which will make the plates have both good deep drawing property and coating performance. It is very clear that the surface topography has a great impact on the properties of plates. Focusing on the study of surface topography, the fiber laser texturing flexible robot system developed by CISRI-NMT Technology&Trade Co.Ltd was used to have9Cr3Mo cold roll textured. The technological tests were taken to analyze the impact of laser focus head posture, side-blown angle and pressure, and laser power on roughen topography, also metallographic test was done to analyze the microstructure of roughen point. Made fiber laser point to the surface of roll vertically at the positions of3,9and12in the direction of roll rotation to complete the tests on the posture of laser focus head and side-blown angles. At every position, keeping the angle between side-blown direction and laser beam60°unchanged, made the side-blown angles change around the molten pool in the order of0°,45°,90°,135°,180°,225°,270°and315°to complete every roughen test in turn. The results showed that the surface topography was good when the laser focus head was on the positions of12and3with the side-blown angle being45°, and given the roughness, the position12was better than the position3. With the fiber laser working separately under the power of600w and8oow to complete the laser power and side-blown gas pressure tests, made the side-blown gas pressure change in the order of0.1MPa,0.2MPa,0.3MPa,0.4MPa,0.5MPa,0.6MPa,0.7MPa and0.8MPa to complete the roughen tests one by one. The results showed that at a certain pressure of side-blown gas, roughen point convex increased with laser power, and the surface roughness increased accordingly. In addition, the side-blown gas pressure should not be too big or too small and the appropriate pressure should be in the range of0.3MPa to0.6MPa. The metallographic analysis showed that when roll textured by fiber laser, the surface organization of roughen point was fine-grain martensite and a small amount of austenite.
