The power industry is an important basic industry of national economy. Most ofthem use the turbine-generator unit for generating power. The turbine is made ofrotor and stator. The processing of the rotor is more complex, especially theprocessing of rotor roots. The large fir tree root has the large size and complexmolded line, which needs high precision, difficult milling and high degree oftechnical difficulty. Also, its quality of processing has a direct impact on theperformance of steam turbine. During the processing of roots, processing error is aninevitable and difficult-to-overcome practical problem. The error analysis is veryessential to improve the machining accuracy. And it is the basis of taking measuresto control the processing errors.The paper starts from the error analysis and control. And it takes the processingtechnology as the research target. Hence, the paper finishes the following task.Firstly, the author describes the processing method of roots (turning, broaching andmilling). According to the large fir tree roots, the author uses the processing ofbroaching and milling. For the sake of reducing costs and improving processingefficiency, the author uses the processing of milling. After analyzing the advantagesand disadvantages of the V-milling and T-milling, the author wants to optimize themand determines the milling program of optimized V-milling. Then the author givesthe performance of roots. Secondly, after the analysis of machining errors and thecauses and control strategies of the large fir tree roots’ processing. The author putsforward the comprehensive analytical method of machining errors. Thirdly, theauthor uses the reasonable processing program for processing program forprocessing roots and gets the molded lines of roots. Then, the paper gets the erroranalysis and emulation. So the author can find out the causes of errors. Finally, theauthor puts forward the control strategies, which are optimizing the cuttingparameters, forming the model of optimization and taking advantage of GeneticAlgorithm optimizes the cutting parameters. The paper wants to use the optimizedcutting parameters for verifying the accuracy of strategy.According to the analysis of and control of technology errors of the large fir treeroots, al analysis enriches the theoretic knowledge and practical experience of roots’processing technology. And the thesis establishes a method for improving the accuracy of roots. These efforts provide the theoretical support and practicalexperience for the future processing of roots.
