The coordination polymer with regular,special structure and function is a type of self-asselllbly formed by organic ligands and metal ions. With variety of fascinating topologies and special optics, magnetism, electricity,catalysis and adsorption properties, it will have potential applications and prospects in the fields of nonlinear optical materials, superconductive materials,magnetic materials, and so on.In recent years, coordination polymer has been the focus of scientists study.In this paper, we used the2-(3-pyridyl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid and2-(4-pyridyl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid as ligands and synthesized lots of dimension different coordination polymers under hydrothermal condition.By methods of X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, IR and thermal stabilities,the crystal structure and thermogravimetry properties of coordination polymers was investigated.as follows:1. We synthesized6,6’-dihydroxy-5,5’-dimethoxy-3,3’methylene-dibenzaldehyed using o-vanilin and paraformaldehyde with addition-elimination;5,5’-dimenthoxy-4,4’-dihydroxy-3,3’-dibenzaldehyde using5-bromo-2-hydroxy-3-benzaldehyde.and.1-(bromomethyl)benzene.with.protection, coupling.and.deprotection;2-(pyridin-3-yl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid and2-(pyridin-4-yl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid using4,6-dimethyl-2-iodoprimidine,3-pyridineboric acid and4-pyridineboric acid with coupling and oxidation etc.2..Under hydrothermal condition, the1-5transition metal coordination polymers were Synthesized from2-(pyridin-3-yl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid.ligagand and transition metal Zn(Ⅱ),Co(Ⅱ),Cd(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ)and Mn(Ⅱ).The6-7transition metal coordination polymers were synthesized from.2-(pyridin-4-yl)-4,6-pyrimidine dicarboxylic acid hgand and transition metal Zn(Ⅱ) and Mn(Ⅱ).Crystal structures of all coordination polymers were determined by X-ray crystal diffraction.(4) and (5) are1-D chains coordination polylners, which are six-coordinated.(1) and (6) are2-D framework coordination polymers, which are five-coordinated.(2) and (7) are2-D framework,which are six-coordinated coordination polymers. Complex (3) is3-D framewor coordination polymer, which is seven-coordinated.3.The purity of coordination polymers is defined by powder X-ray diffraction.The metal-ligand coordination is known by IR-visible spectrum. The transition metal Zn(Ⅱ),Mn(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),Co(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) coordination polymers were characterized by TG-DTA, the analytic data shows they are heat-stable. They were characterized by fluorescence spectrums, the analysis data shows they haven’t photolumines-cence.
