Superabsorbent polymer has been widely used in agriculture gardening,petroleum chemical industry, sanitary products, food, cosmetics and so on. The waterretention, salt resistence and gel strength are the main mearsurement indexes of thesuperabsorbent polymer, but is restricted by its high cost and poor degradability. Sofar, acrylic acid was the main raw material for commercial superabsorbent polymer.However, the application of acrylic acid was confined with the high price and poordegradability. Therefore, it’s far more important to find a new superabsorbent polymerwith low cost and good degradability. In order to reduce the cost of superabsorbentpolymer, humic acid (HA) and acrylic acid (AA) were choosed as the main rawmaterials through water solution polymerization synthesis. This part includes thefollowing four sections:1AA and HA were adopted as raw materials to synthesize PAA-HAsuperabsorbent polymer. When the ratio of AA to HA was4:1,4:2,4:3and4:4, theAPS as the initiator, get the absorbrency635g/g,570g/g,350g/g and300g/grespectively; when AIBA as the initiator, the absorbrency490g/g,460g/g,460g/gand400g/g respectively. Absorbrency was high at30~70℃, pH4~10.2AA, HA and CTS were used as raw materials to synthesize PAA-CTS-HAsuperabsorbent polymer. When the CTS accounted for50%of AA, HA accounted for75%of AA and APS as the initiator, the absorbrency is530g/g; when AIBA as theinitiator, the absorbrency was360g/g. Absorbrency is higher at30~70℃, pH4~10. Absorbency reversibility was high when used AIBA as the initiator than APS.3AA, HA and PEG as raw materials to synthesize the PAA-PEG-HAsuperabsorbent polymer. When PEG accounted for70%of AA, HA accounted for75%of AA, the absorbency was315g/g. The polymer showed high absorbency at20~70℃, pH4~11. The adding of PEG couldn’t improve absorbency.4Fuming sulphuric acid as stlfonation agent modified humic acid (HA) tosulfurnated humic acid (SHA), used AA and SHA as raw materials to the synthesis ofPAA-SHA superabsorbent polymer. When the ratio of AA to SHA was4:1,4:2,4:3and4:4, absorbency was400g/g,430g/g,255g/g and160g/g respectively. The absorbency was reduced after HA was sulphonated.
