Polyethylene naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate is an excellent new polyester material. Its structure is similar to Polyethylene ethylene terephthalate, except in PEN a naphthalene circle was substituted by benzene. PEN is mainly used in a series of product manufacturing such as fibers, films and containers. The application of PEN in these areas could significantly improve product performance.This paper mainly concerns about the design of PEN reaction equipment, and to fix the reaction parameter of polymerization of PEN. And the equipment was tested before polymerization was carried out, and was ascertained that could be used for PEN polymerization. Polymerization experiment was composed of two parts, monomer and polymerization.In the synthesis of monomer, the optimistic reaction parameter was fixed. Orthogonal experiment was carried out to improve experiment efficiency. The optimized reaction temperature was205℃, time was4h and catalyst amount was10×10-4mol/molNDC, the molar ratio of EG/NDC was2.4, Its yield is91.5%.In PEN polymerization, the optimized reaction temperature was295℃, catalyst amount was4X10"4mol/mol and time was3h.Confirmed BHEN, PEN structure by Infrared spectrometer, Design a device for PEN crushed.
