The aim of this paper was evaluate the integrated environmental management projects of Bailang Reiver and compare the environment before and after management, providing reference for improvement of the same environment river, the changes of the urban environment and the enhancement of urban grade.The Bailang River of Weifang, Shandong Province is a ephemeral stream, no runoff itself, the water of which supplied by the Bailang River Reservoir and rainwater. Before treatment, the urban section of this river was serious contaminated by plentiful of unban municipal and industrial wastewater along it, as well as the initial rainfall in multiple years. Besides, the riverway had never been desilted, so the the sludge not only blocked the riverway but also caused offensive odor released. Moreover, the facilities of embankment were aging and logging, which could not reach the programme requirements. In the heavy rain period, the residents suffered the damage from flood.The main content of the management was setting intercepted box culvert on the bank, retaining most of the rainfall into the wastewater treatment plant, Bailang River to be treated after pretreatment or used for comprehensive utilization as planned. Reinforcing the dyke, stopping the projects of water storage, and afforestation the bank combined the requirement of environment and programming.After treatment, considerable parts of N, P, and heave metal had been removed from bottom muds of Bailang River. Almost no exogenous pollutions drained into the river after the implementation of intercepted box culvert project. The surface sediment structure was relatively stably after desilting, causing the dissolved oxygen increased, the released nutrient salt decreased, self-purification capacity increased, altering the conditions of redox in the bottom layer interface of the river, the quality of Bailang River got improvement.
