Water is the source of life. Thanks to China’s deepening of reform and open-up policy and rapid economic development, the problem of river basin water environment destruction becomes more and more prominent and water pollution is more and more serious, which already has affected humanity’s production and life and seriously restricted sustainable development of social economy and ecological environment. In recent years, such factors as water damage, soil erosion and deterioration of biological diversity lead to increasing flood disaster and decreasing water resources carrying capacity, which escalates conflict between man and nature. Therefore, it is imperative to prevent and control the problem of water pollution.The thesis makes use of correlation analysis, factor analysis and cluster analysis to study the mathematical methods of river basin water pollution causes, takes Xiaoqing River Jinan section as an example and analyzes the causes of water pollution in Xiaoqing River Basin (Jinan) through SPSS statistical software. Xiaoqing River Basin water pollution is mainly organic pollution and ammonia pollution caused by the discharge of large quantities of sewage and some industrial wastewater violations or non-compliance emissions. The pollution degree, according to the factor analysis, from light to heavy in turn is Muli village, Ma’an Mountain, Xinfeng village, Huanxiangdian, Wuliuzha, Damatou and Yawangkou. Based on the cluster analysis, they gather four kinds. Huanxiangdian, Damatou and Yawangkou in Licheng area gather the fourth kind. The pollution of them is most serious. The reasons include the widespread distribution of key industry in Licheng area, the massive sanitary sewage emissions, as well as the fact that the Licheng area lies in the middle and lower reaches of Xiaoqing River Basin. The results of factor analysis and clustering analysis are almost the same:The water pollution of the Xiaoqing River Basin (the Jinan section) overall tendency increases progressively first along the rivers and then drops slightly.This thesis is, mainly through sanitary sewage truncation dirt processing, industrial waste depth processing, the pilot making up the source and the establishment of ecological compensation mechanism for comprehensive prevention and control measures, to deal with the pollution of the Xiaoqing River Basin (the Jinan section). Particularly, the establishment of the basin ecology compensation mechanism is carried out based on the rational analysis from the game theory angle. With the introduction of driving and restraining policy, every participant is required to reach an agreement, turning non-cooperation gambling into cooperation gambling.The thesis initiates cluster analysis to study the water pollution for the first time. Taking Xiaoqing River (Jinan) as an example, the thesis concludes that the most polluted three monitoring sections through cluster analysis are all located in Licheng area of Jinan City. It further seeks the causes of the pollution and controls water pollution. With an attempt to establish the basin ecology compensation mechanism, the thesis, introducing the driving and restraining policy, also analyses the relationship between basin upstream and downstream by applying game theory.
