With the rapid development of Chinese Economy, Chinese Foundry Industry, as a basic industry, develops faster. Including Lost Foam Casting (LCM or EPC), which is a new casting technology. It invests slightly, effects fast, design flexible and it is more environmentally friendly. Using this technology, we can make high quality cast products, which possess high precision surface. The proportion of Lost Foam Casting is taking more shares in Foundry Industry, and becoming a new focus of the cast group. EPC mainly includes model manufacturing, coating, drying sand molding and pouring, among the four critical technologies, the compactness of sand mold to the model is in accordance with dry sand molding. It is directly impact pouring, and it is one of the critical nodes of EPC products’quality. Thus to control the process of dry sand vibration compaction effectively has very vital significance.In this subject dry sand vibration compaction process as the main research contents, our objective is to design an automatic control vibration ramming system based on PLC. This system can adjust the condition of EPC dry sand vibration according to the model form real-time and can be applied to production line. Determining this research area, our mainly jobs are as following.First according to the structure mechanics characteristics of granular, we discuss the process of dry sand vibration compaction separately using certain mathematical model. To discuss the process of dry sand vibration in vertical and horizontal hole, we found that different factors have different affects, and that the sands shape and sand body side pressure most influence fill speed. So we have the theoretical foundation for the choice of vibration device.Then illustrate some matters needing attention in designing vibration device structure, and according to the mechanism of dry sand tight, we determine the design of general structure of the device in this subject. Finish the design of vibration tight device used in the process of dry sand molding. This system fits the requirement of EPC, can be applied to the production lines and meets the control system to collect real-time signal. This affords a basis for confirming the system control scheme.Third analyze the control projects in industrial area nowadays, combine working principle and structural characteristics of dry sand vibration device we design a PLC control system as a control program of this subject.Last we describe the course of vibration control system working base on PLC in detail. Connect hardware of PLC and transducer, PLC and touch panel, design the related software, realize their utilization on production lines, and achieve our goal of controlling vibration process through touching the picture.
