Compaction system is one of the most important equipment for lost foam casting,the effects of the Compaction system influence the rate of finished products,dimensionalaccuracy, Surface quality and the quality of the products directly. Casting enterprises paymore and more attentions to the effects of the Compaction system with the developmentof the people,s consciousness and the development of LFC.Currently domestic Casting enterprises product more and more types of castings bymeans of LFC and there are many castings with which complicated Shape structure andhigh profits among them。Such as shells of the turbochargers for the car、cylinders andCylinder Heads of the Engines and so on。But there have two problems In the process ofproduction of these complicated castings。First of all,the blind angle places of the foampatterns are hard to fill the sand。Secondly, the foam patterns are easy to have adeformation.In order to solve these problems, a device for testing the performances of theCompaction system was designed and made in this article. The device can put into theflask directly and then start the Compaction system to fill the sand, people can see thevideo shooting by the device at the same time so the effects of the Compaction systemcan be seen directly. The device can test the performances of the Compaction system bymeans of designing similar complicated cavities on the device.Inspired by industrial spin vibration sieves and with the references of theCompaction systems of domestic and foreign products we designed a new type ofCompaction system and applied to the state invention patent. The Compaction systemhave two layers, the top layer has a device of hydraulic clamping and has7vibrationmotors. The lower layer has pneumatic springs to supporting the device. The twovibration motors at the left and right sides of the platform keeping phase consistent through a belt thereby achieving circumference of vibration in a horizontal plane. Thefour vibration motors at the bottom side of top layer can achieve horizontal vibration orvertical vibration through adjusting the rotation direction and frequency. Besides, thefour vibration motors cooperate with the rigid contact of the two layers can make a shockvibration in the process of shaking the flask and this is benefit to the process of filling thesands. The vibration motor which was installed at the upper platform bottom center havea similar principle of spin vibration sieve, on one side, it can make a circumference ofvibration for the whole Compaction system, on another side,it can make the platformhave a circumference swing which around the XY axis. Compositing up all of these canachieve a move of the sand such as moved to the center or moved around together and itis benefit to filling the complicate castings or long and narrow blind holes.
