| Pulmonary drug delivery, as a new-style administration, has been paid more and more attention by people because of its inherent advantages. Dry powder inhaler(DPI) is replacing the pressurised metered dose inhaler(pMDI) as a result of avoiding problems inherent in the use of propellant gases(Freon) and the need for coordination of inhalation and actuation.This paper reviews the domestic and abroad dry powder inhaler technology research progress, summarizing the marketed and developing dry powder inhaler devices and analyzing the structure principles of the four kinds of typical device in detail. The current varieties and physical states of dry powder inhaler formulation are summarized; the interaction forces between the drug particles and the aerosolisation mechanism have been theoretical studied.This paper completed a passive capsule dry powder inhaler device design. In order to achieve the optimal device performance, the Computational Fluid Dynamic simulation has been performed to obtain the channel flow field and the prototype test has been made to find out the best condition of the device.This paper has also completed an active capsule dry powder inhaler device design. The device has made use of the piston-spring body to generate the compressed air to release the powder t from the capsule and aerosolize the powder for inhalation. The device has used the gear-rack coordinating body to simplify the operating procedure. |
