Dry powder inhaler (DPI) is always popular in pulmonary drug delivery system. It develops so rapidly as a result of avoiding problems inherent in the use of propellant gases (Freon). But ordinary DPI products can’t achieve the ideal effect. So we have a large space to design and research the DPI.This paper reviews the domestic and abroad dry powder inhaler technology research progress, summarizing the marketed and developing dry powder inhaler devices and analyzing the structure principles of the four kinds of typical device in detail. Analysis and summarized efficiency influence factors of DPIs, including device structure and dry powder inhaler formulation.This paper based on the research of self-designed capsule dry powder inhaler, use Computational Fluid Dynamics software FLUENT to simulate the flow field of DPI’s runner. Optimize some parts which influent the device work efficiency most (including nozzle, grid and air inlet). And design a set of dust damp proof cover, in order to ensure the hygiene requirements.This paper has also designed a set of mould for this ameliorative capsule dry powder inhaler according to the principles that reducing cost but ensure the products’quality. We choice the polypropylene (PP) as raw material, and choice the forming method which has multi cavity in one mould, forming a plurality of parts all at once. In this way, not only save of the mould material and make the manufacturing process convenient.
