9.8%of Chinese coals is high sulfur coal, which is limited in the practical application, by environmental protection policy furtherly limiting sulfur emission. The effect has extended to middle sulfur coal, for example, the sulfur of Coal as Fired is demanded to be under1.2%. Decreased the sulfur of coal as fired effectively will bring practical significance to high sulfur resources of china.Blending coal has a great advantage to the aspects of decreassing the sulfur of coal as fired. Firstly, blending coal has some diluted effect on high sulfur coals. Secondly, utilization of sulfur-retention properties of different coals can decrease sulfur emission. If utilized them together, it can decrease sulfur emission greatly and bring very important guiding significance for high sulfur to utilize in practice.Mid-sulfur coal was respresented by pingshuo coal, coal blendings were blended with three typical low-sulfur coals, and then mixed coals were combusted at the high temperature directly. The result indicates that coal type, proportion of coal blendings and temperature has a great effect on sulfur-retention properties of mixed coals. Under laboratory conditions, the highest sulfur-retention properties of mixed coals reach to37.18%. when temperature icreased to1000℃, the sulfur-retention properties of different mixed coals close to zero. Meanwhile, study and analysis on the effects of sulfate sulfur on sulfur-retention properties, alkaline oxide utilization property of mixed coals, square additive property of mixed coals and phases of sulfur-retention ashes. In addition, under1000MW capacity of pulverized coal boiler’s test conditions, the highest sulfur-retention of mixed coals ((Ca+Mg)/S=1.22)reach to10.7%. Reasonable blending coal can improve the economy of desulfurization system by economy analysis.
