Comparative Study On Environmental Effects Of Intra-Industry Trade And Inter-Industry Trade

Since reform and opening, China’s economic grow rapidly, while the economic and the environment is a full range of interrelated, each economic activity will have some impact on the environment. Trade as an integral part of economic activity, it is associated with environmental resources, trade and environmental issues have become the focus of attention.Trade patterns have the scale、 technology and structure effects, and scale、 technology and structure effects have different effects on the environment. The expansion of production scale increases environmental pollution, the effect of industrial structure on the environment is not OK, technological progress can reduce pollution. There are intra-industry trade and inter-industry trade China’s industrial sector. The mining industry、 mining industry、 garments manufacturing、 furniture manufacturing、 Educational and Sports Goods、 plastic products industry six industries are inter-industry trade. But the overall pattern of trade in China is intra-industry trade. Such as in2007intra-industry trade accounted for78%in the32industries. Among them, low-tech VIIT and low-tech HIIT are the main trade pattern, separately accounts47%and22%.This article uses simultaneous equations to research the environmental effects of international trade pattern, which utilizes panel data of China’s industry during the period from2000to2007. The results show that:Under the existing energy structure, all the trade patterns can not achieve the win-win situation of economic growth and environmental protection; In view of the trade patterns environment or the economic cost, intra-industry trade superior inter-industry trade, vertical intra-industry trade superior horizontal intra-industry trade, high-tech VIIT superior low-tech VIIT.The significance of this study is that all the trade patterns can not achieve the win-win situation of economic growth and environmental protection.
