For the pollution of landscape water, artificial ecological system wasproposed to improve water quality based on ecosystem and green energy, and then was designed, constructed and operated. The artificial ecological system mainly involves lawn systemsurrounding the lake, constructed wetland treatment system and aquaticsystem. Lawn system surrounding the lake aimed to conserve soil andwater, absorb and purify pollutants in the surface runoff and especiallyinitial runoff before flow into the lake. In constructed wetland treatmentsystems, lake water was lifted by solar energy and waterwheel, then flowthrough the wetland and back to the lake. In Aquatic system, plants andfishes were bred in the lake for water purification.Precocious grain grass was mainly planted in the lawn systemsurrounding the lake and artificial wetland. The composition of artificialsoil in constructed wetland was clay soil mixture with a proportion ofceramic particles and gravels. Aquatic plants were mainly hornwort andpotamogeton crispus and aquatic animals were mainly spiral shell, crucianand grass carp. The water quality has been improved obviously after one year ofoperation and it reached the water quality standard of IV in "EnvironmentQuality Standards for Surface Water GB3838-2002". The technology was low investment cost, no external power consumption, and also it wasflexible and convenient. It is adapted to the city landscape water treatmentto improve water quality, at the same time it could propagandize ecologicalidea and full of interest.
