With rapid urbanization and modernization, environment is being polluted on escalating level, clear natural rivers and lakes hardly coming into our vision. All those signals reveal a deteriorating aquatic environment. In addition to natural water body, artificial lakes in cities also cannot escape pollution when they turn out features of weak fluidity and strong closeness. A majority of artificial lakes are classified in bad quality on V degree. They are suffering heavy excess in N and P, and their surface is occupied by alga, entailing a compromise in landscape. Polluted water body is always subjected to physical and chemical remediation, which not only consumes tremendous manpower as well as money, but also fails to achieve a complete remediation with a continuous pollution. However, ecological remediation can guide artificial water body to remedy itself, clean itself and sustain a proper condition via recovering ecological system of artificial water body, a radical solution to surface pollution of artificial lakes. Thus, it is crucial for us to study ecological remediation of artificial water body.At the beginning, literature consultation helped me comprehend theories of remediation method; and then field visit was assorted to arrive specific concept of condition and problems of artificial lakes; at last, induction and deduction made contribution to a conclusion of artificial lakes design based on ecological remediation. Finally, example researching method was applied to design of Biluo Lake of Guanghua Park, Wenjiang District, Chengdu. By theory research and cases study, the following conclusions were reached:1. Having compared chemical remediation, physical remediation, biological remediation and ecological remediation,4 methods often applied to treat water body, we figured out how different polluted water used corresponding remediation. Ecological remediation that boasts more potential can offset pollution radically. So taking ecological remediation as the major measure integrated into the other three measures can avoid the situation where artificial lakes always were treated only after they were polluted. Ecological design featuring overall protection from pollution was brought out with the idea that protection first and treatment second.2. Ecological design of artificial lakes falls into three parts:water body, water body, land-lake Eco-zone and land near water. "Double protection and one treatment" as the theme, artificial water body adopts self-cleaning system, land-lake Eco-zone water adopts feeding and filtration system, and land near water rain water collection system. Multiple method were comprehensively used to realize a full ecological function of each area, resulting in a combination of protection and treatment, as well as a self-cleaning of water body.3. When it comes to the selection of water plants, it should be advocated that specific plants should be applied to proper water condition. Via analyzing functions of domestic regular water plants, associating with their landscape effect and ecological functions,a reference for option of water plants in terms of various artificial lakes was provided.4. Taking Biluo Lake of Guanghua Park, landscape design of urban artificial lakes, base on ecological remediation technology, was applied. Meanwhile, ecological remediation coming first, through out artificial water body, land-water Eco-zone and land near water, and physical remediation coming second that conduced to the treatment to polluted sediments and water filtration to this area were systematically elaborated.
