End face processing is the previous step of welding forming pipe, Chamferingmachine which used in the end face processing, is widely used in oil pipelines,laying underground pipelines in urban areas, etc.The processing quality is difficultto meet market demand with traditional equipment, while foreign equipment isexpensive and the installation cycle is very long, therefore the study on newchamfering machine is of great market value.Aiming at the chamfering machine which can process the end face of the pipeconnector, after analyzed chamfering machine’s composition and working principle,the control system was proposed, which take Industry Personal Computer as thehost,and PLC as the the slave.The framework of hardware systems was designed and the choice of PLC, ACservo system based on demand was made, and then designed the electrical systemof the control system, including the control of the spindle and servo motor, theposition of workpiece and safety system.Considering working requirements, safety requirements and communicatingrequirements of the chamfering machine, the monitor management system on IPCwhich based on C#.NET and Access database was developed, including themonitor system and product data management system.and then the serialcommunication between IPC and PLC was researched, it achieved the dataexchange based on the protocol of Modbus. The PLC program for controlling theexecutive components and communicating with IPC was designed applying with thedesign ideas of modular structure.Based on the problems in the processing that the load was so large that itimposed a large influence on the processing quality and the life of equipment whilechamfering workpiece of large diameter, wall thickness and high hardness,theintelligent control system was developed which introduced fuzzy control to achievethe effect of intelligent feed to ensure the spindle load constant during chamferingthrough keeping the spindle’s current constant in the real-time monitoringindirectly.After modeling and simulating in Matlab Simulink,it was proved that theprogram is feasible theoretically.
