Chipping, tool short life and gear machining accuracy not reach design requirement exist in the process of precision machining hardened gear. To improve tool principle configuration, then improve ability of the tool chipping and solve shaping the course of the drawbacks of large chip interference. This paper base on a new shaper cutter mathematical model, in-depth analysis of gear cutting characteristics and using finite element analysis software on different process parameters for simulating the cutting process to get simulating results. Comparing and analyzing simulation and real results to simple studying cutter cutting process and cutting mechanism. The results show that tool life and work-piece accuracy are contradictory. To ensure the accuracy of the gear should be selected fit convex surface. Cutting speeding and cutting thickness variation can influence chip shape, then lead to cutting force, cutting temperature and tool wear change in cutting process.
