The Ubiquinone, which mainly used for cosmetics and treatment of thecardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, is an important nutrient and antioxidant.At present, there are some problems in the production process of the Coenzyme Q10such as the largely consumed raw materials, the high cost, the low purity, bad crystalsize distribution and so on. These problems seriously affected the production salesand pharmaceutical quality of the Coenzyme Q10, resulting in a low market share. Inorder to solve these problems, this paper systematically studied the cooling andcrystallization process of the Coenzyme Q10.The COSMO-RS model is used to predict the solubility of the Coenzyme Q10ina variety of solvents. The solubilities of the Coenzyme Q10in ethyl acetate, hexane,butanol, propanol isopropanol and ethanol at different temperatures are measured bythe weighing method, respectively. The solubility data were correlated with Apelblatmodel. The experimental data was studied to obtain the solubility equation, providedthe thermodynamic data for the study of the optimization cooling crystallizationconditions of the Coenzyme Q10.The cooling crystallization kinetics of hydroquinone in ethanol solution wasexperimentally measured by the batch transient method, the kinetics equation isobtained by regression method.Thermal decomposition stability of the Coenzyme Q10.was investigated by TG.The optimized operational conditions are confirmed by studying the effects oftemperature, seed and stirring rate on the cooling crystallization process of theCoenzyme Q10in the ethanol solution, and obtained optimized experimentalparameters to optimize the process of cooling crystallization of the Coenzyme Q10.And optimized cooling crystallization process was characterized by DSC, XRD,polarized light microscopy and so on. By comparing with commercial productions,the experimental samples have the excellent crystal size distribution, a higher purity,and a greater yield.The above-mentioned research has not been reported.
