The density and elastic modulus of Magnesium alloy are similar to human body, So it isregarded as a potential medical biodegradable materials. However, Magnesium alloy is easyto erode in the human body fluid, its mechanical properties is lost before tissue healing.Magnesium alloying is the important way to improve corrosion resistance and mechanicalproperties.In this article, base on Mg basic element with different Zn and Ca alloying degradationMg-Zn-Ca alloy and adopted OM, SEM, XRD, Microhardness tester and Gleeble1500tostudy the influence that Zn and Ca to Mg-Zn-Ca alloy microstructure and mechanicalproperties. At the same time, study the Mg-Zn-Ca mechanical property of alloy through T61heat treatment process.The research results is that medical Mg-Zn-Ca alloy is mainly composed of α-Mg,Mg2Ca, Mg7Zn3, MgZn and Mg6Zn3Ca2phase composition. Zn and Ca consist intermetalliccompound in the medical Mg-Zn-Ca alloy at the grain boundaries and grain, only a trace ofZn and Ca elements are present α-Mg solid solution matrix.The research display is that Mg-xZn-1Ca alloys grain were refining with more Znadded, and MgZn and Mg6Zn3Ca2gets more and more, Mg-Zn-Ca alloy microhardness,yield strength and compressive strength are enhanced with Zn content from4Wt.%to8Wt.%,respectively by51.2HV,55.68MPa,245.12MPa increased to64.2HV,104.32MPa,308.07MPa. The magnesium alloy of6Wt.%and8Wt.%Zn take the Cleaves fracture as theprincipal, but Mg-xZn-1Ca alloy of4Wt.%Zn take must cleaves as the principal.Medical Mg-6Zn-xCa alloy average grain diameter became smaller with Zn contentfrom1Wt.%,2Wt.%to3Wt.%, and Mg2Ca gets more. Medical Mg-6Zn-xCa (x=1Wt.%-3Wt.%) alloy microhardness, yield strength and compressive strength has increasedsignificantly, from55.1respectively HV,73.23MPa,258.29MPa ascension to76.5HV,139.56MPa,307.88MPa. And compression fractured be apt to brittle fracture.Microhardness of Mg-xZn-1Ca (x=4,6,8) and Mg-6Zn-xCa (x=1,2,3) alloy areimproved after T61heat treatment process.
