Iron and steel industry is the index of reflecting the national development andindustrialize processing. With the increasingly fierce competion of iron and steel industry,consumers take more stringent requirements on quality of hot rolled strip shape.Consequently, advanced theoretical research and technical support are urgently needed byenterprises. Mid-wide strip hot rolling mill is one of main types mills that used for theproduction of hot strip production, the reseatch of shape control theories related toMin-wide strip hot rolling mill is attracted attention by scholars. Roll shape curveoptimization design of Min-wide strip that gets universally attention from iron and steelenterprises is researched in this paper, through this method to improve quality of hot stripcross-section, shape and roll life has been researched and analysis.Firstly, through the analysis and research of hot rolling mill work roll thermaldeformation impacts on hot strip cross-section shape, and simulation and analysis of workroll thermal deformation by finite difference method, whisch is the basis of work rollthermal crown prediction calculation in roll shape curve optimization. Then according tomeasurement and obserbation to the actual strip steel production, the main reason of thecold rolled steel coil edge defect and counter measures are analysed in detail.Secondly, hot rolling mill roll design optimization of the basic principles wereintroduced, and take some factory1250mm hot rolling mill for example, and according torolling process and equipment characteristics of hot rolling mill, work roll is designedwith roll curve type of cosine function, the end of bearing rollers roller is designed withroll curve type of power function, and roll shape curve optimization of min-wide strip hotmilling is calculated and case studied in the target of obtaining a good shape and uniformcontact pressure distribution between rolls to optimize respectively. The affection ofoptimized roll curve type in improving the shape and uniforming contact pressure betweenthe rollers, etc are simulated and analysis after calculated the curve type of850mmhot-rolling production line.Finally, the optimized roll curve type were applied to the production line in three independent experiments, and hot strip were tracked in cold processing to verify thepractical affection of roll curve optimized design. Experimental results show that, in linewith the method of roll bending, the quality of cross-section of hot roll strip waseffectively improved, the problem of cold rolled steel coil edge was solved and the spallphenomenon of bearing end was eliminated.
