Solid waste has a large capacity, and gradually become a global problem, biomass waste as the main component of solid waste, usually accounted for65to80percent. Biomass waste with high moisture content, readily biodegradable, is notsuitable for traditional waste disposal methods such as incineration, landfill, causinga series of environmental and security issues. As an important means of biomasswaste disposal, anaerobic digestion is divided into dry and wet process depending onthe solid content, and the dry process compared to the wet process has the higheradvantages of organic load, gains a lot of attention.Dry anaerobic fermentation process to produce clean energy and organic fertilizer whilereducing environmental pollution, has good prospects for the use of mitigation ofenvironmental crisis and energy crisis. This paper analysis the abroad and domestic researchactualities of dry anaerobic fermentation process and reactor design, to improve the existinganalog landfill reactor, and designing the1t-scale dry anaerobic fermentation reactor. The reactor achieve at mass transfer by liquid mixing (slurry recirculation), and heattransfer by using EPS(Expandable Polystyrene) insulation materials and heating wire, withthe characteristics of energy saving and environmental protection.Starting-up the dry anaerobic fermentation experiment with the reactor, the result show that:(1) Reactor design and machining has met the requirements of the dry anaerobicdigestion process, with rationality and operability;(2) The cumulative gas productions of the two sets of experiments is111L and544Lrespectively, and the main component is CO2.The two sets of experimental slurry CODcr andBOD5with higher concentration, and the pH reduce with the accumulation of CODcr, BOD5,it clearly shows that the concentration of CODcr and BOD5is caused by small molecules inthe acidification and hydrolysis of macromolecular organic matter decomposition, on the otherhand it shows that the reaction is in the acidification phase and stagnating.
