| Poly (butylene succinate)(PBS) is a kind of environment friendly materialwhich can be completely break down into carbon dioxide and water under thecondition of bacteria or enzyme. Comparing to other aliphatic polyesters, PBS havebetter thermal and machnical performance. And its products are widely used inindustry and daily life. However, for the reason of its molecular chain branches, ithave defect in melt strength and melt viscosity which restrictes its usage in industrialapplication especially in getting high ratio of foaming material. At present, extenderchain modification, peroxide crosslinking modification and blending with high meltstrength polymer were reported to increase its melt viscosity. But few reports areabout PBS foam. Preparing biodegradable materials such as PBS foam material toreplace the traditional foam materials are of great significance in reducing thepollution of the environment. Therefore, this article attempt to parpare PBS foammaterial.Firstly, viscosity of PBS increased through the in situ cross-linking reaction ofsolid epoxy and carboxyl polyester. PBS/CP/SE composite was made by melt blendand mould pressing. And the rheological properties, thermal properties, morphologicalstructure and mechanical properties of the composite have been studied in detail. Theresults show that small amount of CP/SE are dispersed in PBS matrix. But when thecontent of CP/SE are more than20/20, they formed network structure in PBS matrix. With the increasing of CP and SE content, the complex viscosity and tensile strengthof PBS/CP/SE composite first decreases and then increases. Bending strength andimpact strength also increase with content of CP and SE. And composite material canbe quickly transform from the brittle material to ductile material. Degree ofcrystallinity obviously decrease, as well. Those lay the foundation of parparing PBSfoam material. Then PBS foam material is successfully parpared by traditional compressionmolding method. Firstly, the optimal process condition was found by TGA andmoving die rheometer. Then the effect of DCP and foaming agent content on theproperties of PBS foam material has been discussed in details. Finally, PBS foams were successfully prepared. The density of PBS composites foam could be as low as0.22g/cm3. and foams are uniformity in distribution. At the same time, the foamingmaterial has good degradability property. |
