Titanium alloy has a series of advantages, such as its high strength, smalldensity and strong corrosion resistance and so on. It has been widely used inaviation, aerospace, energy, chemical and industry departments. On the otherhand, its hardness is low, wear resistance is poor, and when it in600℃abovethe high temperature condition, it tend to oxidation, all these shortages limitingthe application scope of titanium alloy. Along with the development of thesurface modification, especially glow ionodialysis metal technology, owing toits permeability speed is fast, and permeability layer and the matrix combinedwith high strength, carburizing layerthickness and composition controloyelement, and pollution-free. With so many advantages the scope of titaniumalloy application has been expanded.This paper according toTi-6Al-4-V alloy’slow hardness, wear resistance, make use of glow ionodialysis metal technologyon titanium alloy surface preparation has a certain thickness and alloy element inthe distribution of the gradient permeability of molybdenum alloys, in order toimprove the titanium alloy surface hardness and wear resistance.Through the glow ionodialysis metal technology, the author made a preparation of the permeability molybdenum modified layer in the Ti-6Al-4Valloy surface, and analyzed the influence of the process parameters on theinfiltration layer.This paper using the scanning electron microscopy (SEM),energy spectrum analyzer (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), analyzed thesurface of the filter bed, section morphology, alloy element distribution andphase structure, the results showed that the modified layer consisted of two parts:river and diffusion layer.The Combination of layer and the base or layer andlayer is perfect. The content of molybdenum by surface to matrix smooth changefirst after gradient descending, modified layer by phase and molybdenum Ti-Mointerstitial phase composition.In the friction and wear on the experiments, under the condition of differentpreparation of molybdenum modification and original layer infiltration betweensamples, the friction and wear performance comparison, the wear is more thanany other conditions of low permeability layer, than the original sample wearresistance has increased greatly.
