With the return uncut jade to return true, environmental protection concept stretches intopeople,s heart, natural plant fiber products more and more gets the favour of people, peoplehave been trying to extract fiber from more plant. Cotton stalk as a byproduct of the cotton, itsbast contains the fine bast cellulose fiber,cotton-stalk peel fiber is a important way forexpanding raw material to extract natural cellulose fiber. In this paper, the cotton stalk appearance, and along the length of the cotton stalkcomposition of different portions cotton stalk peel were analyzed. Then, the cotton stalk wassegmented, and two-step degumming method and one-step degumming method for eachportion of cotton stalk were investigated using orthogonal experiment and fuzzy mathematicalevaluation methodthrough analyzing fiber fineness, strength, residual gum content andflexibility. Then, the fibers morphology and chemical composition were analysed by scanningelectron microscopy (SEM) and infrared spectrometry, respectively. The optimal degummingmethod and parameters of each portion cotton stalk were obtained.Through the observation of cotton stalk appearance, primary segmentation of cottonstalk was done. In basis of the quantitative determination of component content of fiber fromdifferent portions of cotton stalk,It was obtained that cotton stalk was divided intothree-portion for degumming experiment. The first portion was the root protion of cotton stalk(under the ground),the second portion was the middle protion of cotton stalk (25cm lengthabove ground),the third portion was the upper protion of cotton stalk (more than25cmlength above ground).Through two two-step degumming of and one-step degumming forthree portions of cotton stalk,it was obtained that one-step degumming method could be usedfor root protion of cotton stalk,two-step degumming method was suitable for middle protionof cotton stalk and upper protion of cotton stalk. Finally,it was concluded that the condition ofdeguming for the root protion of cotton stalk was NaOH35g/L,temperature100℃,time2.5h,Hydrogen peroxide10ml/L;The condition of deguming for middle protion of cotton stalk was NaOH20g/L,temperature90℃,time2.5h,Hydrogen peroxide8ml/L,the conditionof the second boiling is NaOH30g/L,temperature90℃,time1.5h;The condition ofdeguming for upper protion of cotton stalk was NaOH20g/L,temperature100℃,time2.0h,Hydrogen peroxide6ml/L,the condition of the second boiling is NaOH35g/L,temperature90℃,time1.0h.
