As a part of stuying for the plate mill control system developed by the State Key laboratory of Rolling and Automation, Supported by2800mm plate mill automation system modification project, the process control system for plate mill were developed. The reseach work are doing on the process control system architecture and function implement. The research contents and main conclusions are as follows:(1) According to the process equipments and instrnments layout, the framework design for the process control system platform was completed. The general PC server was used as the system hardware. Based on the Windows server2003operating system, with Visual studio2008and Oracle lOg database software, process control system was developed. The application result shows that this system design can satisfy the requirement of system development and operation, and has its own advantages. With great adaptability and extensibility, this process control system can be applied to other similar rolling mill lines.(2) The multi-process and framework-based software architecture was adapted to the function structure design of process control system. The standard process functional modules was designed and developed. Internal function calling mechanism and communication for internal function and external systems are realized. Plate tracking function suitable for field conditions was designed.(3) With multi-thread mechanism, multi-tasking was realized in model setup calculation process. The dataflow and calling logic of setup calculation function were designed. Based on the technology of plate rolling, and with the actual data, the setup calculation function was called several times. Through pre-setup calculation, re-setup calculation, correction calculation, and learning calculation, the accuracy of setup calculation is improved.(4) According to the field condition, broadening rules were proposed, specific turnning solutions was given, and the rolling schedule stratery suitable for site was obtained, The confusing problem of turnning rules on site is solved.(5) The constraints of rolling schedule calculation are analysed. According to the technology, and equipment conditions, the key constraint parameters are given. Considering the plate shape factors, a method for rolling schedule adjusting was designed and good results have been achieved with field application.The research results mentioned above have been applied into practice and have achieved good effect, and improved the precision of rolling process control and the automation level.
