Sanitary landfill is the main process of the municipal refuse treatment, The landfill leachate is a complex wastewater with considerable variations in composition, and high concentration of COD、heavy metal ion and ammonia-nitrogen which makes its treatment very difficult. Improper handling will damage the environment. There is still not a efficient method for the processing of it. The experimental use of mineral resource-rich, low prices of diatomit as absorbent pretreatment municipal leachate, Due to the huge ratio surface areaand strong surface adsorption, generally be used as adsorbent of low concentration of water, it is an important supplement to the pretreatment leachate.In this dissertation, mechanism of essential diatomite as adsorbent for the treatment of landfill leachate was studied by diatomite filter layer process synthetic landfill leachate. Through the experimental study showed that the main parameters, which affect the absorbing process, including diatomit dosage, solution pH, adsorption time, the discharge, initial concentration of leachate and flocculant etc.Experiment results showed that diatomit dosage was400g which got an excellent result of removal effect. The removal rate of COD about93.11%, at the same time we got an excellent result of removal effect of NH4+-N, the average removal rate was88.82%, TN removal efficiency was not very good; the removal rate of TN is about72.61%.When the dosage is fixed diatomite, Experimental dosage is100g, Experiment results showed that the best adsorption parameters of diatomite filter layer process synthetic landfill leachate as follow:the pH value was6-7and retention period was30min. And know how the discharge, initial concentration of leachate and flocculant affect diatomite adsorption.Due to the most of landfill leachate is black, so experiment mix in large quantity of the ink in the synthetic landfill leachate. And observe the removal of color. The results of the experiment are that diatomite filter layer effect on the color removal reached almost100%, a good decolorization.Based on the test results of that analysis of the mechanism, the leachate to diatomite in the absorption of pollutants.The mechanism include physical and chemical adsorption, the former is the main adsorption, and includes depth filtration and molecular sieving properties as well.
